Chief Data Architect

Leading the Data Agenda for Technology at ANZ - supporting the Chief Data Officer and business analytical / data science teams, and directing architectural resources on key projects.

​

Setting the roadmap and architectural patterns for data and analytics, migrating away from 'legacy' technologies and processes toward more advanced, cloud-enabled and distributed data processing frameworks.

​

Ensuring the adoption of Agile processes across the architectural discipline, establishing coherent themes and guidelines for technology staff when dealing/developing data.

Head of Enterprise Insights

Established a Data Science and Insights capability for the Tatts Group (Lottery, Wagering and Gaming divisions). Designed the organisational structure and operating model needed to support the advanced analytical needs of the organisation. Introduced advanced technologies and methods in generating repeatable, actionable and audible insights.

Working with IT to help deliver a data lake platform (based on Hadoop) to facilitate the Insights team's capability to engineer and analyse data at scale for predictive analytics.

​

During my 18 month tenure, I formed the team which delivered over 29 specific insights to business users to action.

Chief Technology Officer

Interim role based in Sydney to lead a large technology based organisation, including 75 data engineers, developers, data scientists, architects and project managers. The ongoing support and maintenance of existing products to customer such as Reuters, liaison with our parent company "Sirca" providing economic data to universities and research institutions.

Assisting business development efforts with new clients, developing the strategic direction for the company with regards to new markets and opportunities to leverage our skills and experience with 'big data' solutions.
